The Lung Function Demonstration Model reveals how the lungs work and how other structures assist with the function of the lungs. The model consists of 2 “lungs”, a rubber membrane which models the diaphragm, and a clear plastic enclosure which models the chest cavity. By pulling and easing on the “diaphragm” the model demonstrates the contracting and relaxing. It shows how the lungs are emptied and filled with air with each breath. The model is 13” tall and is made from rubber and plastic.
